Monica is passionate about using her expertise and 20 years’ experience in business, not for profit management and systems thinking to help build a society where people and nature thrive.
Monica started Shift & Build in 2015 and has been working to help organizations develop and implement strategies that deliver economic, environmental and social value ever since.
In addition to her work at Shift & Build, Monica is an adjunct professor at the Schulich School of Business.
Prior to Shift & Build, Monica was the Executive Director, Education at Public Services Health and Safety Association leading efforts to advance prevention in the education and culture sectors.
Preceding PSHSA, Monica led WWF-Canada’s efforts to drive transformational change and raise funds through relationships with business. Here she created the award winning, Living Planet @ Work, WWF’s program to advance sustainability through employee engagement. The program now has over 1,000 participating companies and has raised over $1M for conservation efforts.
Monica began her career at Procter & Gamble in various business development and customer marketing roles.
Monica holds a BBA with a major in Marketing and an MBA with a specialization in Sustainability, both from the Schulich School of Business. Most recently, she completed a residency program at The Banff Centre focused on using design thinking to build market-based solutions that tackle economic inequality.
